"For those who don't want to go through all of the work required to use the XML UPS module, this revision allows you to insure packages shipped by UPS with only three very simple installation steps.

The revisions to this module allow for UPS packages to be insured, either for just the total merchandise or for merchandise plus taxes. The change to allow for insurance also has the benefit of providing a more accurate UPS quote even when insurance is turned off. This is because the original osCommerce UPS module returned the BASE cost for each service instead of the TOTAL cost. This causes problems when shipping to zip codes with a delivery surcharge since this surcharge isn't included in the base cost. Since this revision always quotes the total cost, which is required for insurance, it also accounts for any delivery surcharges.

Note: Because of the added configuration values required for turning insurance on or off you must first uninstall the orignal UPS module under administration shipping module confiugration. Then replace the old UPS.PHP file with this one and reinstall."
