"The static attributes mod allows you to set attributes for products that are fixed for a particular model and therefore should not be selectable by the customer. I wrote this mod because I had to deal with products that have a
limited lifespan or that had multiple units in a pack, or had some other attribute that the customer might want to know about but couldn't change. I wanted a) the customer to know the lifespan of the product, and b) to be able to make intelligent choices about the product (e.g., send a tickler on product expiration) but a pulldown selection for something that has to be selected and is not changeable didn't make any sense in the user interface, especially under the default title of "Available Options"." |
