Search Engine Friendly URL’s
Search Engine Friendly URL’s are a must for any
contemporary osCommerce store owner. By replacing a link such as
/index.php?cPath=21 with a link such as
/product-name.html you are increasing your chances of obtaining
a high position within the Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs).
If you use search friendly URL’s and when potential
clients search for “product name”, your chances of being found on the SERPs is
going to be much higher than if you use a link such as:
/index.php?cPath=21.
Search Engine spiders such as Google Bot and
Yahoo Slurp prefer /product-name.html over
/index.php?cPath=21 as it helps them identify the content just
by looking at the link.
